An Efficient Channel Equalization on the Transmission of Turbo Coded Signals

This paper addresses the problem of channel equalization and tracking in turbo coded signals over frequency selective fading and delay spread channels. An innovative turbo equalization structure is presented jointly with the iterative decoding process, which is based on performing channel equalization via double decision feedback equalizer (DDFE) designed by using noncomplex least mean square algorithm (LMS). Simulation results reveal that the novel turbo equalizer can mitigate the effects of frequency distortion under certain conditions, as well as accomplishes the same bit error rate (BER) performance while non-selective Gaussian channel is performed.
